• WEATHERIZATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
  The Weatherization Assistance Program provides free weatherization and energy-efficiency improvements to owner-occupied houses and tenant-occupied rental units located with in Chippewa-Luce-Mackinac Counties.  The program eligibility is based on income, and is being administered through the Chippewa-Luce-Mackinac Community Action Agency. More information is available on the Community Action Agency website and on the attached Weather Assistance Program Brochure.
   

• HISTORIC HOMES ON WATER STREET - CLOSED
  Due to the construction work on Water Street, the Historic Homes on Water Street will be closed for the 2010 season.  The homes will be going through some renovations during this time; they will reopen in 2011 even better than before.
   

• LONG GRASS/NOXIOUS WEEDS
  Please be reminded that Section 302.4 of the City of Sault Ste. Marie Property Maintenance Code requires that all developed property be kept free of long grass/noxious weeds. Long grass/noxious weeds is also considered a public nuisance as enumerated in Section 18-4 and prohibited by Section 18-2 of the City Code of Ordinances.  If you have questions or would like to report a property in violation of this code, please contact the City Building Department at (906) 632-5700.
